Here at Newmarket Infiniti Nissan we support the foundation created by George Chuvalo for the Fight Against Drugs.  George Chuvalo was the Canadian Heavyweight Boxing Champion for 21 years, ranking in the top 10 boxers of the world from 1958-1979.  During his boxing years, Chuvalo fought against some of the best boxers in the world; including George Foremen, Floyd Patterson, Joe Frazier and Muhammad Ali. During his 93 professional fights in the world of boxing, Chuvalo never once was knocked down. George Chuvalo created history in the world of boxing.  He continues to fight, but now he's fighting to make the abuse of drugs amongst teens history.

George Chuvalo lost 3 sons and his wife to substance abuse.  Coast to coast, he shares his story with students, parents and many other groups. George has taken his tragic experiences and created something positive by establishing the Fight Against Drugs foundation.  The truth about substance abuse is literally deadly; but it can be prevented by being aware, educated and a part of a strong support system.

• 23% of Ontario students were offered, sold, or given drugs at school in the last year. That's approximately 219,000 students.
   
• Street youths are 11 times more likely to die from a drug overdose or suicide.
   
• Substance abuse has cost our health system $8 billion
   
• 60% of illegal drug users in Canada are between the ages of 15 and 24.
     
• For every $5 spent on drug rehabilitation, $95 is spent on incarceration of drug users.

Newmarket Infiniti Nissan donates proceeds from all vehicle sales to help George Chuvalo fight drug abuse. Here at the dealership, our staff wears the "Fight Against Drugs" emblem on the left sleeve of their uniforms to help create awareness for this foundation. George Chuvalo regularly visits Newmarket Infiniti Nissan, attends events and speaks with our clients on the Fight Against Drugs. He is a well respected individual who continues to reach out and share his story to influence change about substance abuse amongst teens. Newmarket Infiniti Nissan stands behind George Chuvalo and his Fight Against Drugs, and we encourage the community to stand up to it as well.
